Recognized as a DOC wine in 1966, it will be one of the four brands
that were first promoted in 1980 when the DOCG was promulgated.
Grape variety
Sangiovese species (especially Prunillo Gentile) from 70 to 100%. During mixing, the rest uses local black grapes.
However, up to 5% allows the use of non-aromatic white grapes.
Production area
Hilly area in the city of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena. However, the place of elevation within 250m-600m.
