Relais Riserva di Fizzano is a medieval village owned the winery Rocca delle Macie, situated on a hilltop in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The village, dating from the eleventh century, has recently undergone a painstaking renovation, overseen by architects Fabio Zingarelli and Lucia Peretti, who has enhanced the existing structure, providing it with all the amenities to ensure guests the best of services and privacy in an atmosphere of complete relaxation. Located close to the "Via Francigena", halfway between Siena and Florence, near San Gimignano and Volterra, the Relais comprises six buildings, including 19 apartments, gardens and extensive landscaped areas, a chapel, two swimming pools, a bar , a restaurant and a small store where you can buy wine, olive oil and honey made by Rocca delle Macie.
At about 3 km from the Riserva di Fizzano is a pretty farm called "The Tower." Dating from the fourteenth century, the village was renovated and furnished in country style typical of the Tuscan farmhouse, simple and cozy. Here you can stay in one of 4 apartments, all with private entrance and an outdoor area with table, chairs and umbrella. A swimming pool overlooking a valley of vineyards and olive trees, is available to guests who will be welcome even in the Relais Riserva di Fizzano to take advantage of the reception, bar and restaurant.
The restaurant is located in one of the buildings of the village Fizzano and is open both for customers and for those outside of the Relais. Our dishes interpret the traditional Tuscan recipes, even offering them up with interesting interpretations. We use only fresh, seasonal ingredients. The extra virgin olive oil we produce, the vegetables and the wines from our cellar complement and enrich the culinary experience of the restaurant.
Culinary Institute of Tuscany since 1999, during the winter months the doors of our Restaurant open to Chefs at Olive Garden Restaurant, an American restaurant chain, to give them the opportunity to attend the highly qualifying cooking classes and learn the secrets of Tuscan food and wine culture.
