A few kilometers from the Abbey of San Galgano and the village of Chiusdino is the Mill of the Pile, a farm that stretches for 12 hectares in the Natural Park of the Val di Merse, a place full of magic, of which the abbey is the highest expression.

The dishes served at the restaurant La Vecchia Macina, which has an interior room on the bottom of the structure and an outdoor terrace, reflect the authenticity of its cuisine.
ROOMS
The rooms, all with bath, are furnished in "poor art" and equipped with all amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone and radio. On request, in some rooms you can add single beds.
Guests have access to the old kitchen with a large fireplace and comfortable in the style of old country houses, a place that has kept the atmosphere of a time when we find ourselves in front of the fire to end the day together and share, with a glass of wine, stories and tales.
The tower, an ancient Mill, austere on the outside, has become, inside, place of relaxation and conviviality. Books in several languages, armchairs and corners for games, make it an intimate and cozy corner in the farm.
RESTAURANT "OLD MILL"
The restaurant, open to the public, uses local products and those of farm and offers a typical Tuscan cuisine, changing the menu in accordance with the seasons.

It has a capacity for 50 people inside, in a room that shows the ancient milling grain, or 80 people in the gazebo with panoramic meadow site in the bend of the river Merse. We offer personalized menus with typical Tuscan cuisine for small groups, banquets and weddings.
