EXPO Chianti Classico
The promotion of the territory, through the valorisation of its prince product, the wine, goes down in the square.

Sangiovese, the heart of Chiantigian wine, is the undisputed protagonist of the forty-seventh edition of the Expo Chianti Classico wine exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Greve in Chianti in collaboration with Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico, Tuscany Region and the Communes of Chianti.
Sixty-sixth, the highest number reached in 47 editions, the farms from the eight municipalities of Chianti, the Florentine and Sienese areas, to show the qualities, the strength of tradition and the courage to innovate local wine production interwoven with ' experience of whole generations of farmers.
Hundreds of wines on display and tasting, born from the passion and management of families of farmers who translate their knowledge to the youngest.
Strengthened by the success of last year's edition with over 15,000 presences and 8,000 goblets sold, the kermesse that turns the spotlight on the know-how and the culture of wine made in Italy is proposed in an even more varied and dense event. From the 7th to the 10th of September, a four day full of tastings, meetings, talk shows, music events, fashion shows, dance, music, historical re-enactments and exhibitions will take place in Piazza Matteotti.
"The possibility of establishing direct contact with the producer is the strong point of the event - says Mayor Paolo Sottani - to taste about 200 wine types through the excellence of a hundred companies, of which almost 70 in Piazza Matteotti, the other present in the common pavilion. The Expo is a festive and highly promoted moment, enriched by an event program that invites entire families to experience the four days as an opportunity for knowledge of our territory and a tourist proposal aimed at a heterogeneous audience from enthusiastic visitors , curious to those who come to our territory from operators and industry experts. "
Scansano Grape Festival
The new edition of the Scansano Grape Festival, organized by Proloco in collaboration with the Municipal Administration, Consorzio di Tutela del Morellino di Scansano, AAA Morellino, European School Sommeliers and other associations of the territory This year as well tradition, will see the two last weekends of September fill the country's streets with attractions for specialists and for lovers of good wine.
On September 17th and 18th, grapes will be the protagonist in its most noble and well known forms offering a rich representation of its ability to express itself in the oenological field. The wines of the Maremma companies in the DOCG Morellino di Scansano area will be presented at tantalizing in the historic cellars of Sommelier of the European School, with over one hundred labels from about fifty wineries. The Sangiovese will become the master, being the key component of the DOCG, but not only: the whites, the rosé and all the other vineyards that have been able to characterize the territory will be present in tasting. The popular jury will elect a free vote during tasting on the streets of the historic center, the best among the Morellini, while the Technical jury composed of journalists, experts and personalities of the oenological world, under the third edition of the Vannuccio wine competition Vannuccini, will award the best Morellino di Scansano and the best Reserve. An oenological competition devoted to the historical figure of Vannuccio Vannuccini, pioneer of the maremma viticulture of the late '800 and inspiration of Morellino.
The next weekend, September 24th and 25th, will be the opening of the historic wineries by the local associations, to begin the popular grape festival at its 48th edition, which will color the streets of the historic music center, party and joy.
Open Cellars at Harvest Time
In September/October, the fragrances of the grapes and must welcome wine lovers in Movimento Turismo del Vino cellars. It is the moment when wineries come alive with incessant work in the vineyards for the selection of the best bunches of grapes, an enchanting time to visit vineyards, participate alongside winemakers in the harvest and the first phases of production. To better welcome wine lovers, the wineries organize special events such as art exhibitions, shows, concerts and much more. Considering that in different regions the harvest takes place at different times depending on the zone, plans can be made to accommodate visits various areas during the harvest period.

Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy
The Accademia Musicale Chigiana was founded in 1932 at the behest of Count Chigi Saracini,
the patron and music lover who instituted master classes in music in Siena, offering hospitality in his own home to prestigious,
world-famous teachers and to students coming from every continent.
Thanks to its particular origins and the model of culture and of valuing and promoting music
that it has represented in the past century and continues to represent,
the Academy is internationally recognized still today as one of Italy’s most prestigious musical institutions.
Divine Beauty Under the Duomo
"Divine Beauty Under the Duomo -Sight of Light" is a journey under the Duomo of Siena,
a journey into the splendid architectural frame of the Oratory of the SS. Giovannino and Gennaro.
An immersive experience in the history, traditions and beauty of Siena with 3D video-video,
multilingual audio in headphones. After passing through the tunnels that lead from the Baptistery to the Oratory, visitors will be accompanied to
the church's seventeenth-century auditorium, which will be enlivened through a cultural and
immersive 3D videomapping show. The protagonists of the show are the Sienes and their history.
A rope-instrument and an ideal rope unite the citizens inviting them to the Con-cordia,
to the union of the hearts. Political Concordance has the beneficial effects
on the government of the city that are reflected in the great works. The rope metaphorically links the Cathedral, a symbol of devotional sentiment,
at the center of the Public Palace, the Nine Room painted by Ambrogio Lorenzetti with its allegories. The dream starts from the Middle Ages, but extends to our day:
hope is that of a rebirth through Wisdom inspiring Justice and leads to Concordia, "fil rouge" of the show.
The working of citizens in this "welfare state" is manifested in the artisan workshops of yesterday and today.
The characters of the past continue to speak in the present.
The music and the voice of "Sienese" accompany the images of the time flowing from clocks and bells in a hug

Jazz & Wine in Montalcino takes twenty years and to celebrate such an important birthday festival,
combining great jazz music and quality wine, presents a spectacular program.
In the coming month of July, many international artists will arrive in Montalcino (SI) to give life to
what is now one of the longest and best known shows in the Italian music scene:
a lucky project that is born from the collaboration
between the renowned winery Banfi , The Rubei family of Alexanderplatz in Rome and
the municipality of Montalcino. Twenty consecutive years in which two intimate and intense pleasures in the suggestive
location of the Montalcino Fortress make the festival
(which has for some years now become the right place in the international jazz festival circuit)
to be envied worldwide.

Pistoia Blues Festival
The Pistoia Blues Festival (called for a Bluesin period) is a festival that takes place annually since July 1980 in the Tuscan town of Pistoia. Organized by the Blues In Association and the Municipality of Pistoia in collaboration with the Tuscany Region, it is the event that brings the great performers of Rock and Blues music every year on one of the most beautiful stage in Italy!
The first edition of the 1980s is remembered by fans especially for the presence of the blues legend Muddy Waters, Fats Domino, B.B. King, Dizzy Gillespie and Italians Pino Daniele, Roberto Ciotti. Was the first festival in Italy dedicated to blues music.
After a financial crisis culminating in 1984 that forced the organizers to stop the festival on the second day, the resource festival with the 1988 edition featuring artists such as John Lee Hooker, Johnny Winter, Ron Wood of Rolling Stones, Bo Diddley, Otis Rush, Sam Moore and Rufus Thomas, and especially Stevie Ray Vaughan's performance, that year the event was broadcast by RAI in the Renzo Arbore DOC broadcast and where the Blues Brothers Band The disappearance of John Belushi.
In many editions, many artists have participated mainly in blues but also rock soul or jazz, including: Chuck Berry (1989), Frank Zappa, Jimmy Page, Buddy Guy, Pat Metheny, Jeff Healey, Carlos Santana, Joe Satriani, Steve David Bowie (1997), Robert Plant, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors (2011), Brian Auger, Skunk Anansie, and many others amongst others, including Van Morrison, Albert King, Bob Dylan (1996), Lou Reed, Joe Cocker, Which the Italians Zucchero, Franco Battiato, Enzo Avitabile.
The Archidado Joust
The Archidado Joust traces its origins back to the Middle Ages and was officially created in 1397 to celebrate the wedding of Francesco Casali, the Lord of Cortona, and Antonia Salimbeni, a noble woman from Siena. In the city of Cortona, this historical event is recalled every year on the second Sunday of June, when people are lead back to the ancient medieval splendor of the city. The streets are decorated in medieval style, ladies, knights, flag flyers, crossbow shooters, soldiers, pages, civil and religious authorities, all dressed with fine costumes, liven up the city center, which is rich in history and artistic beauties of every time. The Council of Terzieri is really proud of recreating this joyful atmosphere and hopes that the striving competition for winning the golden arrow called “verretta” will emotionally involve not only the five quarters but the whole city, for a moment of genuine joy and funny craziness that makes us coming back to the past.
Now in its twentieth edition, the Joust is an event not to be missed, is compelling and exciting for citizens and for tourists, who are lucky to be in Cortona during the medieval week!
